Percival: If we decide to kill off Percival, I think the best way to do it would be to have him die saving his sister, either being killed by the barbarians, in battle with the Rising Sun or during the bombing raid. His death would be particularly poignant given the character development he went through, and it would be a good way to wrap up his story arc, not to mention a dramatic end. I also like the idea of making his sister into a more important character, possibly for a follow-up story or series, though I'd also like to expand on the siblings' relationship in future stories, if we write anything more about these characters.
Gabrielle: I could definitely see her sacrificing herself to save Percival, especially if we decide to have them fall in love (possible, but clichéd). Her death would definitely have great impact, since it would be very unexpected, and dealing with it would make a good story arc for Percival in the third story. However, I think she needs to go through more character development first.
Tigeleman: Tigeleman's death would probably be a good way to end BfP and set up a darker finale. I imagine he could get wounded in the climax before or just as Bara rescues them, then he later dies of his wounds with a final witticism. I think what works best about Tigeleman's death is that he's ready to die. He's not hoping to die, but he has no regrets and no plans for the future, and if he does die, he'd go peacefully and happily with the knowledge that he had a good life and a great time. What more can anyone ask?
Wow, I'm definitely impressed by the explanations. All of them can be meaningful. I'm inclined to go with either Percival or Tigeleman, but ultimately, I don't think it should be my call this time around.
And as for who should write what sections of the story, I think I'll work best with the Murni/Bara subplot. What do you guys think about the rest?
Both dying could work, but if forced to choose, I'd be most inclined to go with Percival, as his sister's struggle to balance dealing with the loss of a family member while also attempting to hold her own in the group would make for great character development.

I agree, I'd like you to write that story arc. One or more of us should add more pre-Zaragon bombing runs, and I think we should work together on the finale. I should definitely be involved in this, since I need to get back into the swing of things writing-wise anyway.
As for who dies, regarding BfP, I agree with Maj, I think killing off Percival is the best course to take (though my finger's still hovering ofer the "Kill" button for Tigeleman). However, I don't think his sister should be involved in the third story (though we should make her a character by all means), the reason being that the final instalment of a story arc is a pretty poor time to introduce a character for reasons I won't go into here. However, it makes sense for him to die in order to save her. If we need to kill off anyone else in the last story, we shall do so.

Percival's sister will not be introduced in the third installment, she'll be introduced during Percival's rescue in the current (2nd) story, and will remain a character throughout the remainder of the second story.
Just some info on Percival's sister (who has yet to be named by the way):
One thing I would like to see from this character is to include some kind of acknowledgement of a significant recovery period and reintegration into normal society. Under the enslavement of the barbarians for about seven years, she's been severely underfed as well as subjected to mind control drugs (comparable to Haitian zombies) that forced her to ignore any instinctual signs of exhaustion and willingness to take a break. And if Percival's death is final, then she'll have to deal with that as well. Essentially, she'll be mentally scarred and really messed up, but I would imagine Gabrielle would be doing everything she can to help her.

And that's one of the main reasons why I think she shouldn't be involved in the third story - I mean, recovering from that is going to be worth it's own story right there!
Also, Maj, I know his sister will get introduced in BfP, but that's just a relatively brief appearance towards the end and Percival being all worried about her throughout much of it. She won't be properly introduced as a character in her own right until her own story, which I imagine we'll write after the Volveros Revolution/Murni arc is complete.
So, Percival's death = confirmed, then?

Looks to be the case. We seem to all agree.

Alrighty, then.
Alas, poor Percival :(
